Lately on Xiaohongshu (Rednote), I stumbled upon a post sharing chatGPT prompts that create posters for uploaded images. The expected final output will be a high-end,3:4 vertical poster, with the top half featuring a faithfully preserved version of the uploaded images (enhanced only with color grading), and the bottom half being a minimalist, hand-drawn illustration on warm, off-white paper. The overall visual effect creates a poetic, postercard-like and artistic book-cover aesthetic. The link of the original post is attached at the end of this blog.
I applied these prompts to generate several posters for pictures taken during my 2-week trip to Japan last summer. Here, I post them up and let’s enjoy together.
Hiroshima
Miyajima Shrine beneath the sunset, Hiroshima
Osaka
Osaka Castle and its reflections. Osaka Tsutenkaku's night view. Osaka
Kyoto
Yasaka Shrine with lights on. Kyoto Crossing of Gion with shops on both sides. Kyoto A courtyard-style view inside Tenruji Temple. Kyoto A narrow path flanked by bamboo forests on the Mount Arashiyama. Kyoto Columns carved with donors' names in the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Kyoto The gold-adorned Kinkakuji Temple with reflection in the lake. Kyoto
Nagoya
Fountain in the Noritake Garden. Nagoya Bus stop of Sakae, with Nagoya Tower in the behind. Nagoya Night view of Oasis 21, a modern facility consisting of rooftop "Spaceship-Aqua" and Field of Green on the ground and stores in the basement. It is also a photo spot where many young girls gather for shooting videos and practicing dance, one of them told me. Nagoya
Tokyo
A quiet night in Asakusa Temple with dim light. Tokyo Entrance of Kabukicho in Shinjuku. It is more splendid when all the lights are on. Tokyo The serene Meiji Jingu Shrine, except for the crows crying everywhere. Many locals come here to pray or hold weddings. Tokyo The building of Tokyo National Museum. What I appreciate most is the collection of sword and blade and the Japanese prints of various themes. Tokyo An overlook of Shibuya Crossing. It is one of the spots with the highest traffic. Tokyo Buildings on the sides of Shibuya Crossing. A bustling commercial district. Tokyo Platform of Shibuya Sky. It's an observation space 229 meters above the ground, providing us 360° panoramic views of Tokyo. Views are quite different during the day and at the night. Tokyo
